NY Women’s MAY and AUGUST have been Canceled

At this time of global uncertainty, the health, well-being and safety of all of our visitors is top priority.

As such, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming May 4-5, 2020 and August 2-4, 2020 NY Women’s events.

We want to reassure you that we are moving forward with our September 2020 COTERIE Marketplace, in anticipation that business will soon be
conducted without disruption. Visit the COTERIE website for more information »

The world we live in today is unprecedented and ever-changing, and has required adaptation and innovation from everyone in our industry and beyond.

Part of our adaptation has been ensuring we can still create marketplaces for you to grow your business and rebuild effectively and efficiently moving forward. Our top two priorities are to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and partners when they arrive on-site at one of our shows, and to ensure that our customers, whose resources may be more limited now than ever, can get the most out of their experience at our events.

As a result of those priorities, we have made the decision to combine all of our NY marketplaces into one, in September.

That means our July Men’s show PROJECT New York, scheduled for July 19-21, and our CHILDREN’S CLUB show, scheduled for August 2-4, will move to September 22-24 alongside COTERIE. While NY WOMEN'S, also scheduled for August 2-4, is canceled, exhibiting brands will be accommodated in the COTERIE, MODA and FAME shows in September as always. That will allow us to have a combined New York marketplace with Men’s, Women’s, Children’s, and Accessories all in one place, ensuring brands and retailers can come to a single event and make the most connections possible.

This decision is especially significant for our Men’s market, as the menswear industry has made the united decision to move all shows to September in New York, thus allowing the industry to come together in a unified way.  Liberty Fairs and Man NYC are joining us in this endeavor, and we thank them for their leadership and for making this decision with us on behalf of the menswear industry.

We are hopeful that these expanded marketplaces and collaborations with our partners are allowing us to better serve you. With the Javits Center being transformed into a one-stop-shop for brands and retailers during our event, and the industry-wide decision to have September in New York be the central hub for the Fashion community this year, we are adapting as a community to meet the needs of our customers and partners.

We hope that this news provides you some comfort and enthusiasm as we continue to look for ways to best serve our community’s needs. We again thank our partners at the Liberty Fairs and Man NYC for their efforts to unify the menswear industry, and hope to see you, whether you are a brand or retailer in Men’s, Women’s, Children’s or Accessories at our show in September.

The global COVID-19 pandemic is affecting nearly every aspect of life, regardless of industry, geography, or function. In the fashion sphere, we are facing unique challenges as we navigate disruption to our supply chain, our ability to connect great brands with retail partners, and for many, the temporary shuttering of brick and mortar stores. First in China, where many of our key partners and suppliers live, then in Milan, one of the world's most important fashion capitals, and now in New York, where so many fashion houses operate, so many flagships reside, and so many key trade fairs take place.

You likely have seen or heard the latest news around the Jacob Javits Center functioning as a temporary hospital and distribution center as New York’s COVID-19 cases rise rapidly. We are in complete support of the Jacob Javits Center as they work with local authorities to ensure the health and safety of our community during this crisis. It is too early to understand the impact of our events scheduled for July, August, and September of this year, but we are currently planning for a return in the summer and will keep you updated as soon as possible.

It's a time for everyone – and every business – to pivot and give assistance. We are working on ways to help you – our brands and retailers – during this time and will be following up next week with some opportunities to do so. We will continue to be in close contact with the Jacob Javits Center as they build out their plan to support the New York area, and will provide an update as soon as we are able regarding the scheduled dates for our upcoming shows.

We are proud to be part of a community who supports one another, steps up in times of crisis, and works together toward a common goal. The fashion community has always been a tight-knit and resilient one. We know that now – more than ever – we have to unite to face these challenges together, and to support our global community one step at a time.
